Mobile Journalism
In today’s digital age, mobile devices have revolutionized how stories are told and shared. CMR Nepal Journalism Academy, in partnership with Interlink Academy, Germany, offers a comprehensive mobile journalism training designed specifically for experienced Nepali journalists.
This intensive course combines hands-on learning with flexible e-learning, providing you with the essential skills to create compelling multimedia stories using just your mobile phone. Whether you’re covering breaking news, conducting interviews, or producing feature stories, you’ll learn to use the power of mobile technology to enhance your journalism practice.
Course Curriculum
Our curriculum covers the complete mobile journalism workflow, from content creation to publication. You’ll learn the art of mobile photography and videography, professional composition and editing techniques, and understand how to produce engaging digital video stories that captivate your audience.
Course Structure
Our unique program features a blended learning approach designed for working journalists. The training consists of two intensive six-day face-to-face sessions in Kathmandu, connected by a flexible six-week e-learning phase. This structure allows you to apply new skills in real-world situations while maintaining your current work commitments.
- First attendance phase: 6 days, 9am to 5pm, for learning fundamental, must-have skills of mobile journalism
- E-Learning phase: 6 weeks, 4 hours a week commitment to apply newly learned skills at the workplace
- Second attendance phase: 6 days, 9am to 5pm, for repeating fundamental skills and good-to-have skills of mobile journalism
Fellowships for Selected Journalists
The course fee is Rs. 99,000 but the Interlink Academy fellowships are available for selected mid-career Nepali journalists. The fellowships cover course fee including all training materials and meals during attendance phases. For participants outside Kathmandu, we also cover your accomodation and hotel stay during attendance phase.
Course Participants
This fundamental course is ideal for mid-career Nepali journalists with at least three years of experience who have limited or no background in mobile journalism. We welcome applications from professionals across all media platforms – radio, television, print, and online – who are ready to expand their digital storytelling capabilities.
